Bhakkar is s district in Punjab Province of Pakistan and was created back in 1981. The capital of the district is Bhakkr city.The major area of the district is in the plains of THAL but there are areas which are fertile near the Indus River. The district has four tehsils named as Bhakkar Tehsil, Darya Khan Tehsil, Kaloorkot Tehsil and Mnkera tehsil. The district has a total area of 8,114 square kilometers and according to the census of 1998, the total population of the district is 1,051,456. 95% of the population speaks Punjabi but of different dialect. Those dialects include Thalochi, Majhi, Rohi, Shapuri and Jhangvi. The area has great cultural diversity.
