The board of intermediate and secondary education Bahawalpur is among the eight boards of the Punjab province of Pakistan governed by the Educational ministry of the government of the Punjab. It has a main stream importance as an educational board in the southern part of the Punjab. Among the core functions of the board is to conduct the intermediate and secondary education. Every year a fairly large number of students appear in the examinations of SSC and HSSC conducted by the board.
The Government of Punjab in 1977 approved the separate formation of BISE for Bahawalpur region and it was separated from the Multan board. Since then the board has started working as an independent board for conducting the secondary and intermediate examination of its jurisdiction. In July 1977, the board was encamped in Multan and the willingness for camped board staff was asked. IN 1977 the board was shifted in the Bahawalpur in a rented building which later in 1979 was shifted to the present campus. The board conducted its first examination of supplementary in 1978.
The Bahawalpur board was founded after the government of Punjab separated Bahawalpur division from Multan division and thus a need for separate educational board was also sensed. In this regard the board of Intermediate and secondary education for Bahawalpur was established and since the ay of its formation it is fulfilling the educational desires of the students.

All the institutes are supposed to be the affiliated with the board and the institutes can do it by filling up a form and giving certain amount of dues. Then in the end of the year the board starts registering the students with the board. When the phase of registration is over, then boards start managing the examinations which are two to three months away. This phase involves paper setting, announcement of dates, hiring the staff during examination and center allocation for the students for examination.
Last phase is the result declaration in which papers are checked and rechecked and then result is formulated. Once the result is formulated it is checked again before its final release and then it is uploaded on the internet from where students can check it by putting their roll numbers.
This is a long process which involves the affiliation of the schools and colleges with the board from the region. The board then opens up the registration process which involves the fee submission along with the form to be filled and submitted. Both Private and regular students are registered and board then issues the roll number slips to all the candidates. On the announced date, the examination holds and then board formulates the result.
