Board of intermediate and secondary education Sargodha

The board of intermediate and secondary education Sargodha is one of the largest boards among the eight boards of the education in Punjab Province of Pakistan. The board is responsible for conducting the examination of SSC and HSSC in the region which is allocated to the board. The organizing body of the board is the education ministry of the Punjab government.

Board of intermediate and secondary education Sargodha was established back in 1968 under the West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary education Ordinance number VII. The board started its function in the rented buildings in Sargodha district which was then shifted to its own current building. BISE Sargodha was bifurcated and A separate board of intermediate and secondary education was established for Rawalpindi in 1978. Similarly it also was bifurcated and BISE Faisalabadwas established for the division of Faisalabad.

History

The Board was established under the increasing number of students from the Sargodha region and under the West Pakistan board of Intermediate and secondary education a need of separate board was noticed. Under this condition, the board for Sargodha and adjacent regions was established back in 1968. At the time of its formation, the board started its function in a rented building and later it had developed its own building. From the day of its formation, the board is conducting the examination of the students of its region.

Jurisdiction

Jurisdiction is that area which is being covered by the board and the jurisdiction of the board if Sargodha district, Khushab District, Mianwali District, Bhakkar district. All the candidates from these regions have to get themselves registered under this board. Following districts come under the jurisdiction of the BISE Sargodha

BISE Sargodha is responsible for conducting the intermediate and secondary examination in the above mentioned regions. The affiliation of the colleges and schools in the above mentioned areas also comes under the Board’s functions.

Mission

The mission of the Sargodha board is to help the education of the region by developing an educational system and examination system which is fair and transparent. The board is striving hard to develop the examination system which is up to the international standards and where students can find out their real potential. BISE Sargodha has a mission of establishing a transparent, fair and just education system where every student can work out according to his best and excel in the society. The board looks forward to take the education system at par with the international standards.

Working

The board’s working is mainly in full swing in the first half of the year. The affiliation of the schools and colleges in the region continues all over the year against some fee which an institute has to submit to the board. Then in the end of the year, the board starts its registration for the students who want to appear in the examination of SSC and HSSC. The students from both private and regular categories can register themselves. All they have to do is to pay some amount in the bank.

Next phase is the paper conduction which includes the paper setting, formulation of date sheets and the roll number slips to the students. The board is then hires the staff and allocates the centers for examination in the region where the examination is conducted.

The last phase is the result preparation in which the professors from the schools and colleges check the papers and another panel recheck them before finalizing the result. It is then declared through the official website of the board and through gazettes in the region.

Syllabus

All the text books are written by the board’s professors and the paper pattern is also set by them. The model papers are also formulated by the board. The students have the choice to select from different categories in matriculation and intermediate examination. The matriculation students can choose from the science, arts and general science groups whereas the intermediate students have to choose from the Pre engineering, pre medical, arts, science, commerce, general science and the computer sciences.

Registration

The board registers the schools and colleges and their students for the secondary and intermediate education in its jurisdiction. Registration starts around a couple of months before the examination dates and the fee is to be submitted. Once the fee and form is submitted, you are enrolled in the board and your roll number slip is received in your schools or colleges (in case of regular students) or delivered to your home (in case of private candidates).
